PYROASIA Symposium 2026

PYROASIA 2026, the 6th International Symposium on Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, will be held from 26–28 November 2026 at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. PYROASIA serves as a premier global platform bringing together leading scientists, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals working in analytical and applied pyrolysis.

The symposium promotes scientific exchange, fosters international collaboration, and highlights the latest advancements in thermochemical conversion, sustainable energy systems, biomass utilization, and emerging pyrolysis technologies.

Other topics include: Combustion, Gasification, Torrefaction, LCA/TEA of bioenergy processes, Machine learning applications in biomass conversion, and Biorefinery operations.
The PYROASIA 2026 symposium aims to foster a global network of researchers, academicians, and industrial professionals dedicated to advancing analytical and applied pyrolysis technologies. The symposium will feature plenary lectures, keynote talks, invited presentations, poster sessions, and networking opportunities to promote scientific collaboration and technological innovation.
Startup Pitch Competition
Theme: Thermochemical Conversion for a Circular Bioeconomy – Indian Perspective
Exclusive to registered Indian startups, this competition provides a platform to showcase innovations in thermochemical conversion technologies and their role in advancing India's circular bioeconomy. Participants will gain national recognition, networking opportunities, and exposure to academic and industry leaders. Interested startups may submit their pitch to the symposium committee before 30 September 2026.

PYROASIA 2026 ANNOUNCES BEST MASTER’S / PHD THESIS AWARDS

Application Deadline: 20 November 2026, 5:00 PM (IST)

PYROASIA 2026 invites applications for the Best Master’s Thesis Award and Best PhD Thesis Award in the area of pyrolysis and related thermochemical conversion technologies. These awards aim to recognize outstanding academic research contributing to analytical and applied pyrolysis, sustainable energy systems, and thermochemical conversion processes.

Eligibility

Master’s (MTech / MS / MSc) and PhD students who have successfully defended their thesis between 01 January 2026 and 15 November 2026 are eligible to apply.

The thesis work must be in the area of pyrolysis or related thermochemical conversion technologies.

Number of Awards

  • One (01) Best PhD Thesis Award
  • One (01) Best Master’s Thesis Award

Application Procedure

Candidates must fill the prescribed application format and submit all required supporting documents merged into a single PDF file.

Important Dates

(Note: Since the symposium is scheduled from 26–28 November 2026, the awards will be presented on the final day of the conference.)

Selection and Award Details

Applications will be evaluated by a committee comprising subject-matter experts in pyrolysis and thermochemical conversion technologies.

Selected awardees must:

  • Register for PYROASIA 2026
  • Attend the closing ceremony in person to receive the award
  • Deliver an oral presentation on their thesis work during the symposium

Each award will carry:

  • A Certificate of Excellence
  • A Commemorative Memento
